Picking Pinecones

We inherited these “containers” when we moved into this house, so we decided they might make good planters.  Somewhere along the line my hubby read that pinecones are a good substitute for rocks at the bottom of planters to help with drainage.

Most of the trees in our yard are evergreens so we have an abundance of pinecones.  The girls’ job was to collect them and put them in the bottom of the containers.  Some worked a little more diligently than others. 🙂
